BIOGRAPHY
Biographical Overview
Born in upstate New York, Daniel formally began writing music at the age of ten and the violin at the age of six.

Early in 2014, he joined the Juilliard Precollege (New York, NY) concurrently with his high school enrollment at Germantown Friends School (Philadelphia, PA) and took on the unprecedented challenge of studying both violin performance and composition—as well as secondary studies in piano—until his graduation in 2019. During this time at Juilliard he received repeated annual merit scholarships from various organizations such as the MOCA foundation. And he was a critical part of the Settlement Music School's full scholarship-based Advanced String Study program through the duration of these formative high school years.

Daniel continued to build on this educational experience through a double major in violin performance and composition (as well as a business minor) at Rice University's prestigious Shepherd School of Music. At this institution, he likewise received a variety of annual merit scholarships such as the Phyllis Burnell and Garrett Rezeau Tucker, Jr. Endowed Scholarship in Music while leading organizations such as the Moody Center's New Art/New Music program.

Throughout the time he's spent writing music, Daniel has drawn on inspirations as diverse as neoromantic approaches to reimagined tonality, post-minimalist frames of writing, and the timbral variety and diversity of electronic music. After all, he has had the honor of being mentored by today’s greatest composers, including Dr. Arthur Gottschalk, Dr. Pierre Jalbert, Dr. David Ludwig, and Dr. Andrew Thomas. His music has won accolades from an immense number of internationally acclaimed organizations and competitions, such as the Davidson Institute and the Harmony for Peace Foundation.

The onset of the coronavirus pandemic was a key source of creative impetus for Daniel, during which he heightened his artistic output as a musician. Significantly, this represented a new beginning for Daniel's experience as a musician, as he applied his experience as a composer towards producing a significant number of complete film scores that encapsulated a sense of clear narrative as well as an ever-broadening range of stylistic and timbral variety.

Daniel currently commutes on occasion between Houston and various parts of the East Coast. During his spare time, he loves to watch comedy, explore new restaurants, and go on photoshoots.
